Coins from Fountain Help Cats and Dogs

SEDONA, AZ (May 4, 2017) – When you make a wish and throw a coin into one of the fountains at Hillside Sedona, you help make the wishes of others, including cats and dogs, come true.

The Humane Society of Sedona is the first local Sedona nonprofit to be the beneficiary of Hillside’s fountain collection and donation campaign. Quarterly the coins are collected and donated to four different Sedona charities or nonprofits selected by the Hillside tenants. The donation to the Humane Society of Sedona amounted to $250.00 from the collection of coins January through March 2017.

Property manager Don Schaefer notes, “We are honored to be of service to some of the nonprofits and charities in Sedona that strive to make a difference every day in our community. I like to tell the nonprofits, we may not be your largest donation but we could certainly be your most unique.”

Liz Olson, Volunteer and Shelter Manager along with Victoria Walton, Animal Care Associate and Rocky, an adoptable boxer mix were on hand to receive the donation. Even better news? Rocky was adopted the very next day.

The next collection will occur at the end of June with Verde Valley Sanctuary as the recipient. For more information on the coin collection and donation campaign please visit and to adopt Rocky, donate and volunteer to support homeless cats and dogs visit
